Summary
The sea scallop fishery covering waters off eastern Canada and the USA is a relatively diverse fishery, in that within Canada it is divided into inshore and offshore areas, with different management regimes, and between countries, with the US and Canada adopting different management strategies. The assessment provided here applies to the offshore Eastern Canadian fishery, and coincides with the MSC certification. Other fisheries for this species, i.e. inshore and USA, are not currently assessed.
